As someone who lives in Brooklyn but works in Manhattan, I spend approximately ten hours a week using the wonderful Metropolitan Transit Authority's subway system.

Here you will find all of the weird, wacky and downright ridiculous observations I encounter during my commute to and from work.

As the Wall Street Journal noted, a prankster has been altering subway signs to say “Breuckelen” rather than “Brooklyn.” The MTA was not amused: “This sign appears to have been defaced by vandals,” a spokesman for the MTA said in a statement about a sign in the 59th street station. “This is a waste of NYC transit resources.”
