Last post ever…
Well folks, tomorrow I pick up and head off on my long road trip which will eventually land me in Denver sometime later this month.
But before I go, I thought I’d put up one more MTA related item and boy is this one a doozy.
——
Nothing makes us enjoy proposed MTA rate hikes quite like learning they’ve built a bus shelter where there isn’t even a bus line. Oh, MTA, you really know how to stick it to us.
The best part is that the reason the bus line isn’t there is that it was just eliminated in the recent cutbacks. The shelter is at the corner of Union and Prospect Park West, where the B69 no longer goes and the B71 no longer exists.
But the good news is Park Slope residents have a place to sit in the rain and reminisce about all the good times they used to have catching a bus there. Maybe MTA can just called it the B71 Bus Riders Memorial and wash their hands of the whole ordeal.
Presently Councilman Steve Levin is trying to get the MTA to convert the shelter into a covered bike parking lot, but he may have to wait until the MTA gets rid of all the bikes in Park Slope before they complete that task.
